Shingles is caused of reactivation of herpesvirus zoster virus,like chicken pox virus.Caused by reactivation of virus lying in spinal card.Usually occurring when body immunity is low in old age.
Usually appears along dermatoms along spinal nerves . First pain than appearance of vesicles followed by pain.
It’s highly contagious.
It can be easily prevented by a vaccine . SHINGRIX taken in two doses two months apart.
After age of Fify years.
